This aims to teach students/technicians in the manufacturing industry the principles of mensuration, a branch of mathematics that deals with the measurement of lengths, angles, perimeters, areas, and volumes of geometrical shapes both in the 2D and 3D spaces.
It also includes units conversions, and principles of percentage, ratio and proportions.
This course deals with basic mensuration and the correct and proper use of measuring instruments like Vernier and Micrometer Caliper. It includes the applications of linear and geometric measurements such as: lengths, angles, areas, volumes, and the likes.
This subject covers the fundamentals Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). It differentiates the two and describes the operation of both systems. Learners shall gain knowledge and skills in the proper operation, installation, configuration, programming, testing, and maintenance of PLCs and DCS.
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:
1. Identify graphic symbols used in electrical circuits.
2. Read and interpret electrical ladder diagram.
3. Differentiate between PLC and DCS.
4. Explain the working principles of PLC and DCS.
