21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World
Course Overview
This course aims to engage Senior High School students in appreciation and critical study of 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World encompassing their various dimensions, genres, elements, structures, contexts, and traditions.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the students should be able to:
- understand and appreciate the elements and contexts of 21st century Philippine literature from the regions;
- identify the geographic, linguistic and ethnic dimensions of Philippine and world literary history from ancient to the contemporary;
- identify representative texts and authors from each region of the Philippines and the continents of the world;
- appreciate the cultural and aesthetic diversity of literature of the world;
- compare and contrast the various 21st century literary genres and their elements, structures and traditions from across the globe;
- produce a creative representation of a literary text by applying multi-media skills.
